Identity Counseling

Sometimes knowing who you are can be difficult to figure out. Developing a sense of self and the traits and core values you desire is essential and can take time and be challenging. Struggling with various parts of identity is normal and natural when we are young. We may be struggling against peer, family and/or societal/cultural pressures. Or, as time goes on, we may lose our sense of identity due to a sudden or severe change in circumstances or a traumatic event.


Not having a strong sense of self and struggling with these feelings can lead to anxiety, insecurity, low self-esteem, and feelings of incompetency. This lack of a sense of self can also lead to depression and a feeling of hopelessness. We offer a safe place where people can discuss everything openly and we can work through ways to help you deal with it all. We will explore ways to help you cope, and ultimately, find yourself through the process.
